YOUTH CLASSES
We empower students to develop practical skills through a wide range of hands-on classes in basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Our fully equipped woodshop and professional teaching staff welcome hundreds of people every month, online and in-person, from youth groups and DIY homeowners to team-building and employee training workshops.
Through this work, we build comfort and confidence in repair, saving our community money, building economic resilience, keeping stuff out of landfills, and empowering people to stay in their own homes.

Adults ages 18 and over, as well as 16 and 17 year-olds with parent or guardian permission.
Beginners – Many of our classes don’t require any previous experience, though please check the class descriptions for more details.
All genders – We provide a safe and encouraging place for people to learn, especially folks who have historically been kept out of construction-related spaces. On average approximately 80% of our students are female-identified folks.
We also offer several BIPOC-focused classes, including our popular Tables & Benches class, which are curated for BIPOC students but open to all.

There are three price points for each class:
General Admission: This is the standard class price
Supporter: Pay a little more and help us fund partial-scholarships and free classes for low-income students
Cultural Diversity Scholarship: ReBuilding Center offers a Cultural Diversity Scholarship for our classes that focus on home repair, to welcome members of Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color who whose income is less than $35,000/year.

Need-Based Scholarship: ReBuilding Center offers a scholarship for our classes that focus on home repair, to welcome members of the community who earn less than $35,000 per year, or $70,000 per year for a two-person household

Group classes are a great way to share fun and new skills among friends or coworkers. Participants get to collaborate, problem-solve, and explore creativity while gaining practical know-how and, depending on the class, a pretty cool project to take home. Peruse the Group Class Guide for options.
